Project 8 - Cyanotypes

Image
Cyanotypes are photographic blueprints. They have a darker outer and visible brush mark and are sometime made by using a negative, which needs to be the same size of the print. The chemicals is painted on which creates that imperfect edges and are printed with ultraviolet light. To make a cyanotype, you soak paper of other fabrics in the chemical solution and expose to film.

Project 8 - Pinhole Photography

Image
Pinhole photography is basically photography without a lens, so instead of the lens, light passes through a tiny hole which replaces it to create an image. Because no there is no lens, there is also many different types of Pinhole camera made out of many different materials such as containers, cans, wood, plaster, and shells. Pinhole images are softer because there is no lens, they have an infinite depth of field, and long exposure. Depending on the type of film you use, the pictures can come out in different ways. With a flat film planes (where the film is positioned), the light is kind of redirected and creates a vignette. Curved film planes just has a bigger surface area. Steps to make a pinhole camera: 1. Make a cardboard film holder 2. Spray the inside of the box with black spray paint 3. Make a hole in the front of the box 4. Make a simple shutter over the hole with a piece of black plastic 5. Put the film in 6. Take photo Sources https://jong...

School Community Project - Perspective of 23rd

Image
This is Naomi and I's community project, where we focused on Hoyt and 23rd. We took lots of different photos in different places, so we could get a good perspective of the block. We focused on merging of the trees and bricks on the shops. When putting together our final project, we found it hard to perfectly fit the photos together, so we decided to cut up the extra photos into little pieces and make them into a "23" so it would look cool on the poster board. The End. ;)
