I chose subjects based on what the represented and the connotations they had. For example, taking a photo of a rubbish bin could represent itself as a dystopia because rubbish isn't good for the environment.

Project 13 Pre-work

Utopias are good places where people are happy and are living rich and colorful lives. Dystopias are bad places where people do not live good lives. They are often covered in shadows and portrayed as dark. Title of Film or Video: Ways it showed a UTOPIA Ways it showed DYSTOPIA Children It had a train that symbolized freedom and a dog that the person was trying to get to.  It is set in a gray and unsaturated area. This stop motion is good because it utilizes techniques such as stop edit and fade. It also has an interesting storyline. This stop motion is cool because it has a theme and it is edited so well that it appears incredibly smooth.  This one is cool because it uses stop edit well.

I worked on this magazine with Naomi. I made 2 spreads (total of 4 pages) which are the pink one and the "life of a model" spread. Ours is a lifestyle magazine, focused on making people lives' better and fuller. We created it by taking photos, using photoshop, and putting pages together on indesign.
