Project 1: Elements and Principles Poster
This is my Elements and Principles poster. The aim of this assignment was to find pictures that represented the different elements and principles on the web. Then, we walked around Lincoln High School twice and took our own pictures to fit the elements and principles. When we got the photos, we edited them using Google Drive, and then put them in the right-hand column of the poster.
My definition of Elements is the foundations of art. They are the bare basics. These include line, shape, color, value, texture, space, and form. You use them to create the different types of art.
My definition of Principles is different things you can use to add interesting features to your art. The principles are balance, contrast, emphasis, pattern, unity, movement, and rhythm. Instead of being the foundations, principles are the small details to make the overall art better. They can be used along with elements, but they make it more exciting.
This project allowed me to realize multiple things, the first one being that I am actually capable of taking somewhat decent pictures. It also helped me realize that photography is more than pressing a button, and that I should take the Elements and Principles into account kore often to make my photos be better and have more meaning.
